happy weekend...

After a recent heatwave of 90 degree, humid weather, it finally feels like fall again. Today, it was 67, breezy and sunny.  I wore these foxy tights.  My co-worker, BB, and I also went to Cracker Barrel (don't worry, we didn't actually eat) to pick up some fun stocking stuffers.  If you didn't know already, the Cracker Barrel gift shop is a hidden gem.  You just have to get over the Yankee Candle smell and navigate around countless bluehairs. I tried on some 3D glasses that made Christmas lights look like snowflakes so it should at least get points for that.  I can't show you my purchases because some readers are receivers (hi katie and ellie).  I'll give you a hint though: most of it is sweet!

Paul's cousins + their families are in town this weekend and I can't wait to hang out with everyone tomorrow.  I am so glad they all fly in from the corners of the U.S. (San Francisco and Brooklyn to be exact).  It's so fun to get together with them.  The last time I saw two of the couples was our wedding and, let's just face it, there isn't a whole lotta down time when it's your wedding weekend.  Here's to good family and lots of food.

And here's some link love for your pretty fall weekend...

Can we just talk about how awesome these shoes are?

Kids + Design.  We really can have both!

Juxtaposition.  (This photo makes me reconsider my hatred of the word.)

I really Dylan really wants these for Christmas.

All I need is this and a big pitcher of milk.

The perfect holiday purse!

I hope this weekend you are this happy...

Lanvin at H&M. I die.

Seriously, h& are killing me!  I need one of the following:

1. The ability to buy these clothes online...immediately
2. A store in a 50 mile radius...immediately
3. A plane ticket to a store...immediately

I even came out with great men's clothing.  Having a hot husband and a little boy, I appreciate the fashionable man's plight.  And, I assure you, it is even harder to find good men's clothes in the south.  Please open a store here.  Please. now.

I love you.

A San Fran ban...

San Francisco's board of supervisors recently banned restaurants from giving away toys with meals that have high levels of calories, sugar and fat.

vintage finds + magic

Blame it on Mad Men or my hopeless romantic self, but I've developed a habit of scouring Etsy for the perfect vintage holiday dress.  Trouble is, I've been a little hesitant to buy.  I suppose it's the combination of worrying it won't fit and that it will smell as old as it is.  You know that smell.  Ew.  What about you?  Have you ever bought vintage clothing?  Would you?

Secondly, do you believe in magic?  You should, because I didn't have a single cavity. Not a one!  And, I'm hoping that magic will rub off and somehow I'll end up the happy owner of this magical dress. Oh. my.

let's dance

I have a dentist appointment today.  To most people, this would be a regular six month occurrence.  I am admitting that it has been years since I've been to the dentist.  I have serious anxiety when it comes to visiting this little place of mouth torture.  But, this new dentist has assured me that I can have nitrous.  She informed me that it costs $25 and that insurance doesn't cover it.  "That's just fine," I said, "I'd pay $50."

Wish me good luck.  I probably have 8 cavities, but I've never had one before so that's a pretty good record in my book.

p.s. Instead of going to the dentist, let's all have a dance party.  Don't you wish our parties were like the ones in the 40's and 50's?  Something about everyone dancing and getting to wear a crinoline sounds so appealing to me.
